This project improves the conveyance and storage capacity of the storm sewer system and stormwater management features in this area to reduce the overall flooding risk to the community.
The neighborhoods east of Townsend Park in Altoona have experienced flash flooding since they were constructed in the early 2000s. Residents have had water levels rise very close to their homes on several occasions. This project helps mitigate this risk.
