In 2013, Des Moines Water Works, in conjunction with the City of Des Moines Water Works Park Foundation, launched a Master Plan to create a road map for the future of Water Works Park. The plan aims to grow the park into a national treasure that celebrates clean water by not only conserving land and enhancing the park's innovative natural water filtration systems, but also offering more recreational and educational opportunities, inviting visitors from across the state and around the nation to engage in clean-water education. By combining these essential park functions with the educational mission, the power of the park becomes its ability to transform the way we think about water and act to protect it.
