RDG took on the challenge of renovating an older MRI space in a challenging location within the University of Iowa Hospital to meet current and future MRI requirements.
Faced with complex issues such as difficult accessibility and the need for advanced technical solutions, the team demonstrated ingenuity and thoughtfulness in their approach. Instead of simply expanding the MRI space, the team carefully considered installation logistics, scheduling to accommodate long lead times, and minimizing MRI downtime. The design team addressed the unique challenges of shielding and quench vent routing, evaluating options that focused on cost-effectiveness and life safety implications.
