Master Plan
RDG worked with the Southside Regional Fire Training Center of Blackstone, Virginia to master plan, design and build this new fire training center.
This cast-in-place concrete and masonry structure is four stories tall (34 feet) and approximately 6,644 square feet. The facility is designed to simulate a variety of residential, commercial and institutional building conditions, and situations that public safety personnel will experience in the line of duty. The building is designed to accommodate NFPA training for live fire evolutions, search and rescue, laddering evolutions, vertical and horizontal ventilation, rappelling, breaching, confined space, horizontal trench ventilation and mask confidence scenarios.
