RDG Planning & Design has been celebrated for designs that safeguard natural environments, rejuvenate neighborhoods and enhance the quality of life for future generations.

The Iowa Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) has recognized RDG Planning & Design with four 2024 Iowa ASLA Awards. These awards recognize organizations and individuals who demonstrate superior skill in the practice and/or study of landscape architecture.

The four projects recognized include the Marion Uptown District: 7th Avenue Streetscape (Design Built, Merit Award), Palmer College of Chiropractic VanDuyne Hall Site Improvements (Design Built, Merit Award), Downtown DSM: Future Forward Vision & Action Plan (Planning & Analysis, Merit Award) and the University of Tennessee Knoxville RecSports Planning & Expansion in collaboration with BarberMcMurray Architect, Aquatic Design Group and SteckerHarmsen, Inc. (Planning & Analysis, Merit Award).

"These 2024 ASLA Iowa awards recognizing RDG highlight the dedication, innovation and collaboration between our teams and our clients," said RDG Landscape Architect and Senior Partner Cary Thomsen, PLA, ASLA. "These award-winning projects, spanning across a multitude of services, showcase the diverse expertise of RDG and our commitment to creating meaningful, impactful work together.”

Participation in the Iowa ASLA awards program helps broaden professional boundaries, increase public awareness of landscape architects' roles and raise the standards of the discipline. For its 2024 awards, a jury of professionals from the ASLA Louisiana Chapter reviewed each submittal to determine winners in each award category.
