Nick is a senior partner and architect with more than 20 years of specialized experience in the planning, programming and delivery of projects ranging from complex research and laboratory facilities to comprehensive facility plans to athletic and recreation facilities for higher education institutions across the country.

His portfolio includes comprehensive facility master plans, athletic and recreation facilities as well as the design and management of state-of-the-art STEM and interdisciplinary academic and research environments, with a focus on supporting innovation, collaboration and long-term flexibility.

Nick has led multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project delivery from comprehensive facility plans to early stakeholder engagement and programming sessions to design execution and post-occupancy evaluations. His expertise spans from active learning classrooms to advanced teaching laboratories including wet and dry labs, as well as student spaces, collaboration areas and even athletic and recreation venues with a deep understanding of the technical, safety and operational considerations unique to each.

A recognized thought leader in Building Information Modeling (BIM), Nick has presented nationally on the integration of digital design tools to enhance coordination, precision, and performance in complex lab and research facility projects. His talk, “Engineering: The Future, 2020,” delivered to the Nebraska Society of Professional Engineers, reflects his commitment to advancing design practices that anticipate the evolving needs of science and engineering disciplines. Nick is certified by NCARB and AIA and has completed Harvard University’s Guidelines for Laboratory Design: Health and Safety Considerations, further underscoring his dedication to best practices in lab planning and safe research environments.
