UNI-Dome
Modernization
For decades, the UNI-Dome has served as a centerpiece for Panther athletics and campus events. This phase of the renovation project reimagines the fan experience through upgraded seating, new premium suites and improved accessibility designed to better serve all patrons.
One of the most significant changes is the complete replacement of both general and premium seating throughout the Dome. The renovation results in an updated capacity of approximately 12,000 seats, reduced from more than 16,000, to improve comfort, accessibility and compliance with modern standards.
To create a more inclusive and comfortable environment, aisles were widened to accommodate handrails and address existing building code deficiencies. Seat widths were increased, and select rows — particularly within premium and accessible seating areas — feature overpoured seat pans to provide additional spacing between rows. In most general seating sections, the existing bench seating was retained, with updates focused primarily on new seat backs.
Premium seating areas also received comprehensive structural, architectural and infrastructure improvements. A new elevator on the west side of the UNI-Dome enhances circulation and accessibility for all guests.
The project team’s goal was to complete all new seating, suites and accessibility upgrades in time for the start of the fall 2025 football season, for fans to experience a revitalized UNI-Dome on kickoff day.
