Moore Central
Park
The evolution of the City of Moore is rich with historical significance and cultural meaning. The railroad industry is the foundation upon which Moore was established.
The BNSF Railroad maintains an active set of double tracks that form the eastern border of the park site. The critical importance of the railroad industry to the City of Moore is interpreted throughout the park, subliminally and literally. The long range master plan for Moore Central Park cohesively incorporates major program elements.Funding was approved by voters in a November 2012 Bond Referendum, to include a community center, outdoor aquatics center, amphitheatre, farmer's market, accessible playspace and trails throughout the park. The Station at Central Park is a 53,000-square-foot Recreation Center that encourages healthy lifestyles while fostering an environment for strong, community-focused activities and interactions. The architectural character and detailing of the facility embody forms and materials common in early railroad stations and depots. Patrons have access to two full-sized gymnasiums, a fitness area with over 70 pieces of equipment, an indoor running track, cycling studio, multiple group exercise rooms, locker rooms, over 3,000 SF of flexible meeting room spaces with adjacent catering kitchen, and on-site child watch services.
