The evolution of the City of Moore is rich with historical significance and cultural meaning. The railroad industry is the foundation upon which Moore was established.

Parks & Open Space

The BNSF Railroad maintains a very active set of double tracks that form the eastern border of the park site. The critical importance of the railroad industry to the City of Moore is interpreted throughout the park, subliminally and literally. The long-range master plan for Moore Central Park cohesively incorporates major program elements. Funding was approved by voters in a November 2012 Bond Referendum, to include a community center, outdoor aquatics center, amphitheater, farmer's market, accessible play space, and trails throughout the park.
