Housing Needs
Assessment
In 2021, Kansas Housing Resource Center and the Office of Rural Prosperity teamed up to draft the state's first housing needs assessment in nearly 30 years.
This major study provides an in-depth analysis of the state by region and through extensive state-wide outreach. The plan is more than just data collection and understanding of the issues but provides tangible strategies around state-wide housing goals. The strategies are divided between items that could be done on a state level and those that local counties and cities could implement. The final plan, completed in December of 2020, was the launching pad for several housing-related initiatives in the 2022 legislative session.
