Improvements
A strong public involvement process strategy was the cornerstone of this project. Design work sessions, broken into large and small group meetings and individual property and business owners' discussions, allowed any members of the community with interest to be involved in and influence concept development and preliminary design.
Additionally, a project website provided an avenue for input and comments on specific concepts and overall project priorities. With the benefit of this extensive process, the team developed a design that takes cues from turn-of-the-century catenary lighting, past and existing architectural significance and the rich cultural foundation that exists within the community.
