RDG Welcomes Experienced Healthcare Architect
Kerry Cheung, AIA, LEED Green Associate brings decades of experience leading programming and planning for academic medical centers and large-scale hospital projects.
RDG Planning & Design announces that Kerry Cheung, AIA, LEED Green Associate, has recently joined the firm in its St. Louis office and will lead programming and planning efforts within RDG’s Healthcare Market. Cheung brings more than 30 years of experience working on academic medical centers and large-scale hospital projects and a wealth of unique skills and knowledge to her role.
“Kerry embodies what it means to be an architect dedicated to designing spaces that positively impact individuals and communities,” said RDG Senior Partner, Nate Gieselman, AIA, NCARB. “Her knowledge, passion and commitment to creating healing healthcare environments align perfectly with RDG’s mission and our aim to design spaces that improve the lives of individuals and communities.”
With every project, Cheung works to seamlessly blend functionality and aesthetic appeal. Her experience navigating the complex regulations and technical constraints that come with healthcare projects makes her especially adept at planning and programming environments that support the important work of medical professionals.
“It’s very meaningful for me to visit projects after they open and hear stories from people about how their lives have been improved,” said Cheung. “In addition to creating a positive experience for the users of healthcare facilities, I am passionate about envisioning operational efficiencies and effective use of space within those facilities. As planners and designers, we can bring tremendous value by helping clients reimagine their care delivery practice in a new or different way.”
Cheung earned her bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Kansas. Her commitment to creating healing environments and positively impacting people’s lives extends to her work within the St. Louis community, where she regularly volunteers to provide help and supplies to students and teachers in need and pack and serve meals to people experiencing homelessness.
